NEA - Statement Of Intent!

NEA - Statement of Intent!

The brief, in which we have to create, is a music magazine front cover and a double page spread. This magazine is roughly aimed at teens of the age 14-18 year old. The title of this magazine is called ‘Beatz’ I have chosen this because it has something to do with a POP genre. The way I would like to present my magazine would be by having bright colours this is because a POP magazine are normally bright and if I did use dark colours it won’t be as interesting and the audience would not want to read it. The main colours I would like to use are blue black and white. I am using these colours to make it stand out and feel open. I have decided to make the artist look happy as it would welcoming when the reader when they pick it up.  The locations I might use is the Media studio or outside however i have not fully decided because if I use the studio I would be able to Photoshop it in Photoshop to make it look realistic and if I use it outside I won’t be able to change after. I dont want this magazine to be too crowed with a lot of text also this magazine would be aimed at young teens so i want it to be interesting for them to read.
Also on my double page spread is based on what she wants to do in the future so talking about her own opinions on what she has done would allow her present herself to the world and allow herself to be known as a new artist. This magazine would be able the readers to have a magazine that they would enjoy reading. The location of the media studio room had a back drop of wallpaper of pink so it would stand out for the front cover

NEA - Audience Research & Analyzed Results!

 Audience Research & Analysed Results

What i have found out from my results is that i have found out that most results were popular for example the most popular artist is Drake however many people did suggest that they would go for Selena Gomez.  Also people would prefer having bright colours as it will stand out for the audience/reader when they come to pick up the magazine. The most popular genre which had been chosen POP this is because POP has grown largely across the world where more singer and coming to sing POP this is also for those people who would like to listen to POP whenever they are free. In my opinion i think POP has changed throughout the years of growing up. Many people decided to go for Entertainment for the style of writing this is because i thing that entertainment has a more fun and eye-catching for young reader whereas the factual is more for older people and youth these days wont pick it up and read it. using the research that i have created

NEA - Magazine Deconstruction!

As part of this Brief i have to undertsand the conventions of a music magazine to understand what aspects of mise-en-scene targets the audiance and what they see in music magazine.

NEA - Music Magazine Collage!

This is a Magazine Collage Of Billboard. I have used these magazines as Billboard is about POP that is what I want to do for my magazine.

NEA - Reader Profile

NEA - Research Rationale

Research Rationale

I plan to produce a POP music magazine with a target audiance of 14 - 18 year olds. I have a wide access to my target audience, for example i am a student currently in Year 11 which has an age range from 14-18. Also, I have access to young adults and adults to help me build my research. This will help me to gather accurate information and cater to what they look for in a music magazine and what attracts them to purchasing one.
The reasearch that i will be collecting for a POP music magazine, I will do two types of research: general and focused. I will put together a set of questions around what people’s interests are in music, what they like to see inside a music magazine and what attracts them into buying one. This will help me with my general research as I should be able to gather a good amount of feedback to influence my magazine. As for the focused research, I am planning to get a few magazines already published and show a small group of people; asking them what they like and dislike about them. By doing this type of research, it allows me to get a good understanding of what those belonging to the target audience of my magazine, expect and like to see.

To produce  this research i have used Google Forum to create a survey and collect feedback  on what the audiabce does either the listen to music or buys magazine.

NEA - Typography Moodboard

What i have found out about the majority of these mastheads is that the colour of the them are mostlyRed, white and black. Red normally contrasts with the fearture of danger, fierce and a loud tone. For example looking at 'Rolling-Stone' there headline/masthead looks as if they have bricks. Bricks are normallly stone and commutes with anger and being rebelliouse for rock music. Whereas in Billboard there font has 3 different colours involved blue, yellow and red this is because Billboard is more for teenagers and young audiace as Billboard is more about POP. Also looking at 'Respect' masthead the font is all in caps this is beacuse as in caps is shows more attention for the audiance which is also very demanding.
